Dear Lord,
Help us to seek you more,
Gratify our selfishness less,
Have a teachable spirit,
And a heart that loves you.
Lead us into a new year
With excitement,
Anticipation,
Dedication,
And love for each other.
Let us not resolve lightly
To do things that require
Commitment,
Courage,
Passion,
And perseverance.
Grant us days unencumbered
By worry, regret, and our past.
Give us your yoke instead
So that we may have peace
In the days of this New Year.
